VINwiki supports adding content for new vehicles 2 different ways. If you have the VIN for the vehicle you are making a post about, you can use that. If you don't have the VIN or it's a vehicle you saw while out and about, we have PL82VIN for converting license plates to their respective VINs.

PL82VIN sometimes has a delay depending on the data available from the governing institution. This means sometimes plates do not return the most recent VIN.
Below are instructions on how to make posts in each of the supported VINwiki platforms.
Web Browser
After logging into our web app,
https://web.vinwiki.com,/ you'll be taken to the home screen. To make a post, click the post button located on the left navigation.

select the state corresponding to the license plate and type in the
plate number. Keep in mind, some states have restrictions around O (the
letter O) vs 0 (zero). Sometimes spaces need to be removed and other
times they don't. Click "Lookup" to see if the vehicle information can
be looked up. If so, you'll see a pop up asking you to confirm the
make, model and VIN of the vehicle. Click "Confirm" to have the VIN
prefilled for you to continue your post similar to above in Fig W3.
